In New Zealand, the regulations around tree fern harvesting and manufacturing are tight. The Government of Aotearoa, New Zealand, is serious about protecting its natural resources. Most of New Zealand’s native forests are found in National Parks, and those are fully protected. Tree ferns in these areas cannot be harvested.
